The numbered Treaties have promises to pay yearly sums of money and to provide assistance to First Nations in times of hardship.
Annunites
The written text of the Treaties that cover Saskatchewan all have promises to pay sums of money annually to all members of the First Nations that entered the Treaties. These amounts were to be paid forever.
His Majesty also agrees that next year and annually thereafter for ever He will cause to be paid to the Indians in cash, at suitable places and dates of which the said Indians shall be duly notified, to each chief twenty-five (25) dollars, each headman fifteen (15) dollars and to every other Indian of whatever age five (5) dollars.
Help in Times of Famine or Pestilence
Although it is only in the written text of Treaty 6, Treaty First Nations consider this a Treaty Right.
That in the event hereafter of the Indians comprised within this treaty being overtaken by any pestilence, or by a general famine, the Queen will grant to the Indians assistance.
